Job Title: Construction Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at O'Brien & Company. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire construction process from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage construction feasibility, product evaluation, estimating, bidding, contract administration, cost control, and project closeout.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with company safety policies and cultural practices.
  • Help innovate the building process, streamlining systems and methods through technology.
  • Cultivate and maintain sub-contractor and supplier relationships.
  • Support in providing accurate and detailed estimates for a wide range of projects.
  • Manage the selection process of sub-contractors and suppliers during bidding and budget processes.
  • Work directly with Project Managers, Designers, and Superintendents on estimating processes to ensure accuracy, providing constructability reviews, preconstruction planning, and site logistics plans through design and construction phases.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members, especially in the field level.
  • Track, notify, and obtain client signatures on project changes before proceeding with work.
  • Utilize Viewpoint Team effectively for project communication with clients, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Contribute to performing material take-offs and ordering, reviewing submittals to contract documents, assembling and submitting Requests for Information.
  • Set up and document changes in scope and track related costs.
  • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards and material purchases.
  • Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions common in the Northwest.
  • Document and manage completion of all punch list items in a timely manner and support final close-out documentation to Owner acceptance.
  • Maintain company culture and be a team player.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Superintendent experience working for a General Contractor on commercial construction projects.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding construction documents.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, BlueBeam, Adobe, and collaborative project software applications.
  • Valid state-approved driver's license with a clean driving record.
