This role is responsible for ensuring the TJU community complies with sponsor requirements for post-award management of sponsored programs. To achieve this, the incumbent must have a thorough understanding of federal grant policies, as well as state, local, and non-profit agency regulations. They must also stay up-to-date with changes to these regulations and participate in ongoing training in the field of research administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishing Sponsored Projects accounts, which involves reviewing terms and conditions of each award notice, contract, or clinical trial agreement, as well as reviewing the fiscal aspects of each award (budget, F&A rate, cost sharing, etc.)
  • Entering data in the PeopleSoft Grants Management module, including generating accounts, budget updates, continuations, and extensions
  • Monitoring monthly financial statements for overruns, accelerated or delayed expenditures, and cash flow. Meeting regularly with assigned departments to review accounts and address problems quickly, and participating in statement review meetings
  • Having knowledge of University financial systems (particularly PeopleSoft and Cayuse) and grant accounting procedures. Being able to access financial information electronically and having a working knowledge of University procedures and workflow
  • Demonstrating commitment to our core values of excellence and innovation, integrity and respect, teamwork and communication
  • Knowing policies and procedures applicable to assigned duties. Using sound judgment and being aware of potential hazards before taking action. Promptly reporting errors/events or situations of actual or potential harm. Understanding emergency procedures and being able to demonstrate appropriate response
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) required, preferably in accounting or business
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a research administration environment (or a combination of education and experience)
  • Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance federal sponsor regulations and, in particular, the NIH Grants Policy Statement
Conditions of Employment

Covid vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University.
