Teaching Opportunity

Sylvan Learning is seeking a part-time Reading and Writing Instructor to join our team. As a Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on our curriculum and equipped with the tools to teach in a small group setting. You will provide personalized instruction in the subjects you are qualified to teach, with day, evening, and weekend hours available.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach using Sylvan-based programs
  • Supervise, interact with, and motivate students during instruction hours
  • Reward students for completed assignments
  • Evaluate and document student progress
  • Communicate student needs to the center manager

Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of teaching or tutoring experience
  • Test prep, SAT/ACT teaching or tutoring experience is a plus
  • State-level teaching credential or certification preferred
  • Some college in English, Education, or a related field preferred
