Job Summary

The Dietitian-Diabetes Specialist serves as a leading provider of diabetes care and education within the Norton Healthcare System. This role requires a strong background in nutrition and diabetes management, with the ability to provide direct patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient's routine diabetes care through acquisition, interpretation, and modification as appropriate of advanced diabetes technologies.
  • Deliver comprehensive diabetes care and education for nutrition, advanced diabetes management, acute/chronic complication management and prevention, lifestyle and behavior modification.
  • Collaborate with organizational departments/committees and partner with external programs to provide robust health and wellness options to patients served.
  • Coordinate and administer comprehensive diabetes care through on-site programs and classes to deliver nutrition and relevant health and wellness education to patients and their families.
Qualifications
  • Three years in specialty area
  • Bachelor Degree
  • CDE or CDCES certification
  • Dietitian (State) (KY) licensure or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (National) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master Degree
  • Licensed Diabetes Educator (State) (KY) certification
