Job Summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to serve as a leading provider of diabetes care and education within our system. As a Dietitian - Diabetes Specialist, you will provide direct patient care and support, including management of insulin and anti-hyperglycemic agents under policies and protocols approved by supervising Licensed Care Practitioners/Providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patients' routine diabetes care through acquisition, interpretation, and modification as appropriate of advanced diabetes technologies, including glucose meters, interstitial glucose sensors, and subcutaneous insulin infusion pumps.
  • Deliver comprehensive diabetes care and education for nutrition, advanced diabetes management, acute/chronic complication management and prevention, lifestyle and behavior modification, while assessing comprehension, psychosocial factors, and social determinants of health.
  • Function as part of a multidisciplinary team utilizing age-appropriate principles of growth and development for patients aged infant to geriatric.
  • Collaborate with organizational departments/committees and partner with external programs to provide robust health and wellness options to patients served.
  • Coordinate and administer comprehensive diabetes care through on-site programs and classes to deliver nutrition and relevant health and wellness education to patients and their families in the ambulatory, emergency department, and hospital-based settings via face-to-face or remote electronic modalities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Train and guide dietitian-diabetes specialist team members.
  • Participate in program research and development.
  • Train staff, providers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in the specialty area.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (National) certification.
  • One of the following: Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification.
  • Master's Degree in Dietetics or related field (desired).
