Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for new and existing clients, considering their medical history, medications, and specific behavioral health conditions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, adjusting recommendations as necessary based on progress and changes in condition.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to integrate nutritional care into the overall treatment plan.
- Provide education and counseling to clients, families, and caregivers on proper nutrition, special diets, and healthy eating habits to support recovery and overall health.
- Oversee the development and implementation of meal plans that meet the nutritional needs of clients, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client assessments, care plans, and progress notes in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, as well as facility policies related to food service and nutritional care.
- Provide training and support to staff members on nutrition-related topics and dietary protocols.
- Stay current with the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and dietary management, particularly as they relate to psychiatric and behavioral health.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) in [State], if applicable.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or behavioral health setting, with a focus on pediatric or adolescent populations preferred.
The Dietitian will primarily work in an office clinical setting, or virtually, with some duties performed in kitchen areas or dining facilities.
