Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Safety Officer I to join our team at Kern Community College District. As a Public Safety Officer I, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campus community, including students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol campus buildings and grounds to prevent and respond to incidents
  • Investigate and report incidents, including accidents, injuries, and property damage
  • Enforce college policies and procedures, including parking regulations
  • Provide escort services for faculty, staff, and students as needed
  • Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies and fires
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of experience in a security setting preferred
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Valid California driver's license required
