Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Ridgecrest. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and providing emergency response services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls, including traffic incidents, disturbances, and other crimes.
  • Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
  • Make arrests, serve warrants, and transport prisoners.
  • Provide traffic control, direct traffic, and assist with emergency situations.
  • Interact with the public, provide information, and resolve complaints.
Requirements
  • Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Physical fitness: Must be able to pass a P.O.S.T. approved medical and psychological exam.
  • Experience: Completion of P.O.S.T. approved basic academy or employment with a California law enforcement agency within one year of application date.
