This role presents an exciting opportunity within the lending division of a well-established real estate firm with over 50 years of industry experience.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a strong capacity for independent work. A friendly demeanor both in person and over the phone, along with a proactive attitude and a commitment to professional growth, are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping duties, including maintaining financial records for lending entities and generating reports for senior management.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations across various bank accounts.
- Prepare necessary tax documents, including 1099 and 1096 interest statements.
- Process bank deposits primarily through desktop systems.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Engage with colleagues regarding rent collection and defaults related to foreclosed properties.
- Maintain accurate rent rolls.
- Perform general office tasks, including file management both physically and digitally.
- Obtain credit reports as required.
- Establish new client and loan files.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation for loans.
- Collaborate with legal and title professionals.
- Coordinate loan closings and funding processes.
- Record loans in QuickBooks.
- Receive and post loan and interest payments.
- Retrieve property tax and utility records.
- Assist in preparing construction draws for approval and fund disbursement.
- Work with construction inspectors for draw approvals.
- Facilitate coordination of foreclosures with legal representatives.
- Draft payoff letters and statements for loans upon completion.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Excel (Microsoft Office Suite) is required, along with a strong command of QuickBooks. Candidates should possess a solid mathematical aptitude and familiarity with standard office equipment (telephone, fax, copier, scanner). A background in accounting and knowledge of real estate practices are highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to meet strict deadlines, are essential. Experience as a paralegal or in real estate is considered a plus.
