Hometown Veterinary Partners is expanding and is in search of a skilled Veterinary Assistant to enhance our dedicated team.

Community:

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival.
  • Assist clients with check-in and check-out processes.
  • Collect basic vital signs, weight, and medical history of patients.
  • Safely restrain animals during examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting findings to the veterinarian.
  • Assist in emergency situations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs in patient medical files.
  • Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare based on veterinarian recommendations.
  • Educate clients on medications and best practices for pet care.
  • Conduct clinical diagnostics.
  • Support medical procedures including specimen collection and laboratory tasks.

Collaboration:

  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in the practice environment.
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
  • Effectively triage emergency cases and reassure clients and pets.
  • Review patient records to ensure vaccinations and preventative care are current.
  • Document all observations and treatments in medical notes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kennels, examination areas, and sterilize equipment.

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of veterinary experience preferred.
