About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to provide clinical services to adult participants in our Reentry Program. As a key member of our team, you will develop and oversee all clinical activities, including intakes, assessments, individual sessions, and group workshops. Your expertise will help participants navigate system stressors and family dynamics, promoting positive individual and family change.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough intakes and assessments for Reentry participants.
- Provide comprehensive, trauma-informed individual counseling as needed.
- Create engagement and aftercare plans for participants, utilizing clinical supervision and case conferencing with Transformative Reentry Initiative staff.
- Engage participants' support systems, such as family members, neighborhood supports, and school staff, and provide case management services as needed.
- Offer voluntary referrals to community-based services to address health, school, employment, housing, and food security needs, and maintain communication with service providers to ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Be the point person for any de-escalation needs that may arise with participants while on site.
- Work collaboratively with Transformative Reentry Initiative staff to streamline an internal referring system.
- Utilize online databases to track participant activities and outcomes.
- Participate in SIJC all-staff meetings, committees, and staff development activities.
- Spearhead events and special initiatives at SIJC and in the community.
- Attend SIJC events or community meetings after hours or on weekends.
- Other activities and duties as needed.
We are seeking a candidate with a LMSW and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Candidates with a MSW will be required to obtain their license within 90 days of employment. Strong knowledge of community resources in Staten Island, the justice system, reentry, and restorative justice practices is a plus. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively with a variety of partner agencies in a high-pressure/fast-paced work environment.
What We OfferThe Center for Justice Innovation offers a competitive salary range of $57,500 - $68,000, commensurate with experience. We also provide an excellent benefits package, including comprehensive healthcare, free basic dental coverage, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts. We prioritize mental health care for our staff and offer services like Talkspace and Ginger through our healthcare plans. We offer a 403(b) retirement plan with a two-to-one employer contribution up to 5%.
