The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our Transformative Reentry Initiative team. As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in providing clinical services to adult participants in our Reentry Program. Your expertise will help individuals navigate system stressors, family dynamics, and restorative practices, ultimately promoting positive individual and family change.
Responsibilities- Conduct intakes and assessments for Reentry participants
- Provide comprehensive, trauma-informed individual counseling as needed
- Create engagement and aftercare plans for participants using clinical supervision and case conferencing with Transformative Reentry Initiative staff
- Engage participant's support system, such as family members, neighborhood supports, and school staff, and provide case management services as needed
- Provide voluntary referrals to community-based services to address health, school, employment, housing, and food security needs and maintain communication with service providers to ensure appropriate follow-up
- Be the point person for any de-escalations needs that might come up with participants while on site
- Work collaboratively with Transformative Reentry Initiative staff to streamline an internal referring system
- Utilize online databases to track participant activities and outcomes
- Participate in SIJC all-staff meetings, committees, and staff development activities
- Spearhead events and special initiatives at SIJC and in the community
- Attend SIJC events or community meetings after hours or on weekends
The ideal candidate will be a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Candidates with a Master of Social Work (MSW) will be required to obtain their license within 90 days of employment. Strong knowledge of community resources in Staten Island, the justice system, reentry, and restorative justice practices are a plus. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with technology and video platforms such as Zoom.
What We OfferThe Center for Justice Innovation offers a competitive salary range of $57,500 - $68,000, commensurate with experience. We also provide an excellent benefits package, including comprehensive healthcare, free basic dental coverage, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts. We prioritize mental health care for our staff and offer services like Talkspace and Ginger through our healthcare plans. We offer a 403(b) retirement plan with a two-to-one employer contribution up to 5%.
