Role Summary:

The Formulation Technician II is responsible for executing the production of pharmaceutical Spray Dried Intermediates (SDI) and Solid Dosage Forms, including tablets, capsules, and granules, while adhering to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment, workspaces, and the facility with the help of designated personnel.
  • Prepare manufacturing areas and components for Production Batch Record execution.
  • Act as a verifier on logbooks and other documentation.
  • Execute Production Batch Records and Work Orders efficiently.
  • Work independently and possess the experience to verify at least one line of unit operations.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and gowning materials.
  • Manage cGMP materials inventory in accordance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Revise existing SOPs and create new ones as necessary.
  • Conduct equipment qualification and ensure cleanliness of processing tools and utensils, documenting all activities.
  • Ensure proper labeling of all cGMP equipment and components.
  • Perform additional technician duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or military experience is preferred.
  • High School Diploma is mandatory.
Experience Requirements:
  • At least one year of production experience in the pharmaceutical sector is essential.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and familiarity with cGMP documentation, spreadsheets, and software applications is preferred.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work with a strong attention to detail.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) with effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work setting involves the production of pharmaceutical dosage forms in a small-scale manufacturing suite.
  • Position requires frequent standing for extended periods, along with ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination to navigate various locations.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move medium to heavy weights (35-50 pounds) is necessary.
  • Dexterity in arms, hands, and fingers is required for prolonged tasks.
  • Visual acuity is essential for using a keyboard, operating laboratory equipment, and reading materials.
  • Ability to sit, reach, talk, and hear for extended durations is also necessary.
