Job Summary

The Patient Access Lead is a key member of the OrthoNY team, responsible for overseeing the daily duties of the Patient Access Representative (PAR) teams. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and organize daily responsibilities and schedules of the PAR teams
  • Assist and cross-cover as needed in any of the team's responsibilities or locations
  • Prepare staffing schedules to ensure proper coverage
  • Train new staff and assess team needs for retraining
  • Perform staff audits and reeducation as needed
  • Review daily balances and copays collected to ensure the team is meeting standard KPIs
  • Extensive understanding of health insurances, patient registration/scheduling, and balances
  • Account for and compile team's financial batches for the day
  • Monitor lines to ensure patients aren't waiting unnecessarily
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards
  • Maintain a neat and organized workspace and restock supplies as needed
  • Travel to other offices as needed for coverage
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; some higher education preferred
  • 1+ year supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical insurances required
  • Exceptional customer service skills required
  • Experience working with an EMR/PM required
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Quick thinker with ability to pivot in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle for needed travel
