Job Summary

Pfizer's US Migraine portfolio consists of two treatments: NURTEC ODT and Zavzpret. NURTEC ODT is the first oral CGRP receptor antagonist for acute and preventive migraine, while Zavzpret is the first nasal spray for fast relief from a migraine attack. With over 40 million patients suffering from migraine in the US, there is a significant economic burden on the healthcare system, costing over $78B annually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop access and affordability strategies for the Migraine portfolio, collaborating with US Market Access, Specialty Access Solutions, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with USMA, Field Force Leadership, and Access Teams to identify opportunities to develop and optimize HCP and patient understanding of market access.
  • Collaborate with U.S. Market Access Team to understand individual payer access strategies for Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid, and manage the impact on patient access and affordability strategies.
  • Manage forecast, GTN, and overall financial impact of reimbursement strategy decisions, making strategic decisions and implementing changes in real time.
  • Facilitate alignment of product strategies, pricing, and pull-through of access opportunities and barriers.
  • Lead the development of market access pull-through resources and tools for HCPs and Consumers, in collaboration with Brand team and Field Sales.
  • Partner with analytics team on market access landscape reports to assess performance and summarize status of product access to field sales and brand leadership.
  • Proactively monitor and collaboratively identify ways to manage GTN over the course of the brand lifecycle.
  • Understand and anticipate the implications of changing market dynamics.
  • Continually track and optimize copay offer terms, pharmacy buy down program business rules, balancing Rx abandonment with financial metrics.
  • Conduct periodic competitive assessments of competitive affordability programs, patient OOP cost, and actions needed to stay competitive in-patient affordability landscape.
  • Partner with SAS team on the management and optimization of HUB program.
  • Identify opportunities and implement strategies to reduce access and affordability operational expenses.
  • Lead a team of 3 direct reports.
  • Ensure Migraine franchise follows SOPs and policies related to access and affordability and patient support.
  • Manage significant A&P budget and vendors related to affordability programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum 15+ years of pharmaceutical experience, MBA preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the US payer landscape and reimbursement processes required, preferably with experience in products that require Prior Authorizations and Step Edits.
  • Knowledge of hubs, co-pay, and patient services programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of contracting implications on patient access and affordability.
  • Ability to understand customer needs, extract key insights, and translate these into meaningful strategies and market results.
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to mobilize key stakeholders and engage senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in maintaining productive/collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation are essential.
  • Experience managing direct reports required.
