Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Safety Officer to join our team at the University of Texas at Dallas. As a Public Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Direct traffic and parking as needed, ensuring the smooth flow of vehicles and pedestrians on campus.
  • Conduct regular patrols of buildings and grounds to identify potential security risks and take proactive measures to prevent incidents.
  • Provide directions and information to visitors, ensuring they have a positive experience on campus.
  • Lock and unlock buildings, assist with vehicle problems, and provide access to authorized personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the safety and security of our campus community.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and eligibility to drive a university-owned vehicle.
  • Physical and mental ability to perform the duties of a Public Safety Officer, including lifting, carrying, and pushing heavy objects.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
