Job Summary

As a Sous Chef at Morrison Healthcare, you will play a key role in the successful operation of the Culinary Department. You will assist in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial Culinary professional.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and creating menus that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed client expectations.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A.S. or equivalent experience in Culinary Arts.
  • Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience is a plus.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities.
  • ServSafe certified is highly desirable.
