Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Transit Equipment Service Attendant to join our team at the City of High Point. As a key member of our Transit Operations department, you will be responsible for performing routine semi-skilled work in servicing transit motorized equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain transit vehicles, including fueling, lubricating, and checking fluid levels.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Wash and clean equipment and vehicle interiors and exteriors, and check tire wear.
  • Assist Mechanics: Assist mechanics with repair and maintenance duties as needed.
  • Supply Management: Pick up parts and supplies from vendors or warehouses.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Clean office areas, shop areas, and tools, and perform building and grounds maintenance.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Assist in the installation of bus stop signs, benches, and shelters, and perform maintenance, cleaning, and cutting grass around these facilities.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
  • License: Valid North Carolina Driver's License required.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds and maneuver up to 150 pounds when using a hoist, hand truck, dolly, or winch.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Working Conditions

The Transit Equipment Service Attendant will work in a fast-paced environment, exposed to various weather conditions and temperatures. The position requires the ability to work with all types of people, including coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
