Position Overview

The Manager of Asset Risk is accountable for the comprehensive oversight and adherence to Black Hills Energy's (BHE) Transmission and Storage Integrity Management Programs (TIMP and SIMP) that cater to a vast customer base across multiple states. This role involves leading a team of technical experts to ensure that the TIMP and SIMP initiatives are executed effectively and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Compensation: $110,900 - $183,100 (This posting reflects the complete salary range for this role. Compensation is influenced by various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of Gas Engineering Design & Project Management.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of technical specialists and engineers to enhance pipeline safety and integrity.
* Take a proactive role in evaluating the company's pipeline safety posture and provide strategic recommendations to senior management to foster an industry-leading pipeline safety program.
* Oversee the integrity baseline assessment plan for multi-state regions and ensure the availability of technical expertise for each evaluation.
* Manage pipeline integrity Preventative and Mitigative (P&M) strategies across various states.
* Deliver analytical insights regarding threats to the BHE system to state and senior leadership.
* Contribute to the budgetary planning process as it pertains to pipeline integrity.
* Provide leadership for corrosion control initiatives and manage corrosion technical specialists across multiple locations.
* Ensure all responsibilities are executed in a safe and reliable manner.
* Monitor compliance with gas operations and asset risk management protocols.

Additional Duties:
* Assist with other asset risk management initiatives within the department.
* Promote safety, diversity, and social responsibility objectives of the department and the organization.
* Recruit, lead, train, and develop a diverse and remote workforce.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in natural gas with a focus on pipeline integrity.
* 3-4 years of experience in a managerial capacity with a remote team.
* Proven technical and operational expertise.
* Familiarity with DOT, PHMSA, AMSE, API, and relevant codes related to compressor station design and operation.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to lead a diverse team with varying needs.
* Capability to manage multiple projects of different scales simultaneously.
* Team-oriented with a demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a collaborative environment.
* Ability to present and report analytical information in a clear and concise manner.
