Job Summary

Shift: Days - Full-time

Responsibilities:

This position is under the direction of the Medical Center's Administrative Department. The incumbent will assist in the clarification and development of process improvements and inquiries, train medical support staff and clerks to ensure all personnel have full knowledge of covered material.

This position is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities to meet the educational needs of all employees. The incumbent will draft, create, and maintain training manuals. This position will require training employees on navigation of the electronic health record system, including patient demographics, encounter creation, patient accounts, insurance eligibility, problem-solving, and other related tasks.

The incumbent will verify that all employees are following regulatory requirements to resolve edits or exceptions detected during system processing. Employees will sign off on initial competency evaluations for every employee after training has been completed. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in the re-training and annual evaluation of established employees.

Minimum Requirements:

3 years of clerical experience

Experience:

Experience as a seasoned Medical Clerk or Patient Representative

Advanced knowledge of all insurance payers and payer billing requirements

Knowledge of medical terminology

Type 45 wpm

Ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written instructions

Advanced computer skills (Microsoft, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)

Excellent organizational skills

Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently

Ability to complete tasks within a given timeframe

Productive and goal-oriented

Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve account errors within a reasonable amount of time

Ability to function effectively as a team member and respond to changes in work processes, leadership, and systems in a constructive manner
