Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Facilities Planner to join our team at The School District Of Philadelphia. As a key member of our Capital Programs department, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our schools are equipped to provide exceptional educational opportunities for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analyses of space utilization to determine optimal educational program needs.
  • Develop and implement the Educational Adequacy Plan for newly constructed and renovated facilities, ensuring alignment with the District's educational mission.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, architects, and engineers to design and develop educational facilities that meet the needs of our students and staff.
  • Coordinate the procurement and delivery of furniture, equipment, and educational materials to school sites.
  • Develop and implement the Long-Range Facilities Master Plan, incorporating data on educational plans, enrollment trends, and demographic changes.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on educational facilities planning, space utilization, and design standards.
Requirements
  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of full-time, paid, professional educational experience, including one year in an educational/administrative capacity.
  • Proven knowledge of educational trends, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
