About the Role

This position is responsible for providing critical support to the Special Assets team, ensuring the efficient and effective management of loans assigned to this group. Key responsibilities include loan accounting, reporting, reconciliation, payment processing, and account maintenance, all in accordance with Bank loan policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile customer accounts and analyze customer histories to identify potential issues related to payment and/or services.
  • Perform administrative and office support activities, such as generating daily and monthly reports for the department, and electronic filing of loan approvals.
  • Collect and analyze data to prepare regular or periodic reports on department functions and distribute to internal partners.
  • Ensure that operational practices adhere to standard operating procedures, Bank policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Process loan charge off and recovery transactions, and update the lending platform with relevant coding.
  • Conduct daily/monthly reconciliation of charge off and recoveries.
  • Receive and distribute bankruptcy notices on loans assigned to Special Assets, and update the lending core as applicable.
  • Manage projects, analysis, and other responsibilities as directed.
  • Track and reconcile nonperforming loan general ledger expenses.
  • Review Credit Memos for authorized approval authority, distribute, and code loans as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger and DDA certifications.
  • Complete a variety of requests received through a shared Outlook account.
  • Book OREO (Other Real Estate Owned) accounts, post write downs, gain/loss on sale transactions, and maintain, balance, and distribute the OREO reconciliation report.
  • Maintain dashboard reporting of loans assigned to Special Assets for distribution to Special Assets leadership.
  • Work on assignments that are semi-routine and moderately complex in nature, requiring judgment to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job functions and apply to designated job responsibilities.
  • Follow all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and complete all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as a subject matter expert.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.About You:
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • 2-4 years of back office accounting and/or banking experience preferred.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to review data and prepare reports, recognizing problems and determining the best approach and/or recommendations.
    • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Strong reading, writing, and math skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret loan documents.
    • Proficient keyboard skills.
    • Ability to analyze problems, determine the best approach, compile and analyze data, prepare reports/recommendations, and read, write, and perform arithmetic skills, knowledge of department procedures, practices, and policies.
    • Ability to use office software (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, spreadsheets, etc.) and equipment.
