Key Responsibilities
  • Perform microbiological tests on raw milk, ingredients, and packaged products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Analyze products for chemical composition, including fat, total solids, pH, and titratable acidity.
  • Sample products throughout the production facility to ensure quality and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with laboratory technicians, plant associates, and supervision to ensure seamless operations.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve quality and safety goals.
  • Multitask and work quickly while maintaining accuracy and procedure integrity.
  • Recognize and effectively implement modifications to methodologies based on circumstance and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Chemical analysis skills, including fat, total solids, pH, and titratable acidity.
  • Microbiological testing skills, including raw milk, ingredients, and packaged products.
  • Sampling skills throughout the production facility.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly while maintaining accuracy and procedure integrity.
  • Knowledge of Gmail, Google documents, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent aseptic technique.
  • Knowledge of basic algebra and chemistry.
  • Great attention to detail and organization.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AOAC, FDA testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of sample preparation and dilutions.
  • Knowledge of microbiology, plating techniques, reading and interpreting microbiological results.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of butterfat testing (Babcock, fluoro-transformer).
