Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Pathologists Assistant to join our team in the Surgical Pathology Department. As a key member of our clinical laboratory team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities- Perform gross description and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens for examination, holding, and transport/shipment.
- Assist with the preparation of freshly removed surgical specimens for cytologic studies.
- Enter accession cases into the laboratory information systems.
- Perform laboratory high-complexity testing in a compliant manner, including specimen grossing.
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Maintain regulatory knowledge and awareness as it pertains to specific job duties.
- Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.
- Graduate of an accredited (NAACLS) Pathologists' Assistant training program and American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification eligible.
- Three years of experience as a Cleveland Clinic Pathologists' Assistant Trainee with a minimum of Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in a biologic science.
