Job Summary

JCS Solutions is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support the Department of Defense. In this dynamic position, you will have the opportunity to work across projects and teams to provide support for numerous specialized Enterprise Applications. Your daily activities will directly impact real-world operations and assist in implementing and leveraging the latest capabilities of Linux Enterprise systems and developing technical solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities
  • Install, rebuild, configure, maintain, administer, and document Unix/Linux systems, software, system-related products, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in accordance with established standards.
  • Create, document, and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain, and patch system environments and software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents detected during monitoring, by other technical teams, or reported by users.
  • Review Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts/Bulletins (IAVA/B) related to current operating environment and implement remediation plans.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for routine and non-routine procedures that assist in the management and operation of the Linux Enterprise operating environments.
  • Perform any required re-accreditation actions, such as DISA STIG review, OS upgrades, vulnerability scan remediation, and document various required lists (PPSM, H/W, and S/W) during the normal accreditation cycle.
  • Recommend changes to the government for improvement in the operating and/or security environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must.
Requirements
  • An active DoD Top Secret/SCI level of clearance (desired).
  • Information Security/IT background.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience with reports and presentations for executive audiences.
