About the Position

The New School's Politics Department is seeking a distinguished academic leader to fill a tenured and endowed position at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor. This is an exceptional opportunity for a scholar with a strong research agenda and teaching experience to join our vibrant community of scholars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an active research agenda, publishing peer-reviewed articles and books in the field of political theory.
  • Teach a 2/2 load in our graduate and undergraduate programs, including courses in political theory, critical thinking, and research methods.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to MA and PhD students, advising them on their research and career development.
  • Contribute to the department's service needs, including committee work, curriculum development, and community engagement.
Requirements
  • PhD in Political Science or a related field, with a focus on political theory.
  • Evidence of a strong research agenda, including peer-reviewed publications and an active research program.
  • Evidence of teaching success at an institution of higher education, including course evaluations and student feedback.
