Help Desk Support Specialist

At EBSCO Industries, Inc., we're passionate about honoring our commitments to our customers and seeking to continuously improve our team. We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Birmingham-based helpdesk team as a Help Desk Support Specialist.
This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to develop their technical skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
Responding to user requests for service, troubleshooting problems, and helping to develop solutions.
Supporting PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
Performing minor repairs to equipment and arranging for other servicing needs.
Identifying and reporting system issues to vendors, monitoring, and testing resolution of those issues sent to vendors.
Assisting with inventory check-in, storage room maintenance, and recycling of old hardware.
Other duties as requested.
Basic Requirements:
High school Diploma
6 months or more technical experience either through school or work.
Ability to lift 15-44lbs.
Ability to work onsite at EBSCO HQ at least 15 hours a week
Preferred Requirements:
Previous technical internship experience
Currently enrolled in a collegiate IT and or MIS degree program
Tech savvy, enjoys working with people and computers.
Ability to work autonomously in a very fast-paced environment.
