Safety Technician Job Description

At Wood plc, we are seeking a highly skilled Safety Technician to join our team. As a Safety Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing HSE Mandates: Collaborate with management to ensure the effective implementation of HSE mandates and policies.
  • Providing HSE Services: Assist in providing HSE services to working locations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Developing and Implementing HSE Plans: Support the development, implementation, and revision of site-specific HSE plans, ensuring they are aligned with company policies and industry best practices.
  • Monitoring Compliance: Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards, client requirements, and company policies.
  • Training and Development: Support the development and delivery of HSE training programs, ensuring employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely.
  • Incident Investigation: Assist in investigating incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Procurement and Training: Monitor procurement needs and training requirements for personal protective equipment, ensuring employees have access to the necessary resources to perform their jobs safely.
  • First Aid and Medical Services: Manage the first aid and medical emergency services needs, ensuring employees have access to timely and effective medical care.
  • HSE Recognition Program: Monitor and support the HSE recognition program, recognizing and rewarding employees for their contributions to HSE excellence.
  • Networking and Professional Development: Network with other HSE professionals, sharing best practices and lessons learned to stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years' experience in HSE or a related field, with advanced medical and/or HSE certification preferred.
  • Skills: Statistical and analytical skills, relationship-building competencies, computer-based systems and software, and planning tools and processes.
  • Knowledge: Wood HSE policies, procedures, and management system, HSE performance measures, industry HSE associations, and affiliations.
