Job Summary

Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist III to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families in need of mental health services.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify social service needs and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Evaluate patient data and develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Participate in weekly treatment planning and progress note documentation to ensure timely and effective care.
  • Ensure compliance with all treatment plan requirements, including regular review and updates with patients and families.
  • Develop and implement discharge plans that address the unique needs of each patient, including follow-up with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, as well as crisis intervention and support services to patients and their families.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination and transitions.
  • Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to enhance patient care and performance improvement activities.
  • Document all treatment provided to patients in their medical records, adhering to established case management guidelines.
  • Complete all reports for suspected abuse as legally mandated and inform supervisors accordingly.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Current Nevada Clinical License (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, etc.) required.
  • Current Nevada Master Social Work License (LMSW) and Clinical Social Work Internship (CSW-I) or Clinical Professional Counselor Intern License (CPC-I) accepted.
  • CPR certification prior to completion of new hire orientation.
  • CPI certification prior to completion of new hire orientation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills, with ability to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, expanding environment with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and standing for sustained periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas orally and potentially loudly, accurately, or quickly.
  • Minimum standard of hearing and visual acuity.
