Position Overview

We are a leading aerospace manufacturing firm seeking to enhance our Accounting Department with a dedicated Accountant.

This role is essential to our operations and requires the candidate to be
present on-site five days a week. Prior experience in the manufacturing sector is crucial for this position. There is significant potential for advancement into management roles within our organization.

Direct Hire Senior Accountant Role Overview

This position involves the analysis and validation of monthly Gross Profit reports and General Ledger entries, including various cost components (Direct Labor, Materials, Burden, Scrap, etc.).

Daily tasks will include utilizing MS Excel for creating Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, HLOOKUPs, Macros, and Spreadsheets.
Responsibilities also encompass analyzing overtime expenditure trends and Direct Labor staffing levels, alongside familiarity with the Standard Cost Accounting process.
Support will be provided in the formulation of the Annual Operating Plan for the business unit.
Prepare and compute financial statements and statistical reports; conduct analyses and offer recommendations based on findings.
Timely and accurate reconciliation and updating of weekly KPI information as mandated by corporate objectives.

Responsibilities include preparing and reconciling monthly reports for various general accounting functions, such as sales, bookings, backlog, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts.

Prepare necessary documentation and journal entries.
Daily and monthly cash reconciliation with the bank.
Ensure customer collections align with payment terms and company goals.
Handle daily accounting tasks related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as needed.
Organize filing and reference systems pertinent to general accounting activities.
Maintain effective controls over inventory and Cost of Goods Sold, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Generate requests for ACH transfers.
Assist with timekeeping and payroll functions.
Monitor and report on monthly departmental budget expenditures.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and monthly inventory reporting.
Track completion of milestone projects, generating invoices and recording journal entries.
Participate in the month-end closing process for cash, Accounts Receivable, inventory, sales, and bookings.
Calculate and input all necessary journal entries.
Coordinate the completion of shipping and FOB cutoffs to support revenue recognition.
Act as the facilitator for Capital Acquisition Requests, measuring results and actual ROI.
Oversee fixed asset acquisitions and capital expenditure data to ensure compliance.
Collaborate on accounting matters and engage in process development with other departments.
Conduct internal audits of Sarbanes-Oxley policies and procedures as outlined in the SOX ICE database.
Plan and oversee the annual physical inventory count.
Prepare documentation for internal and external audits of general accounting activities as required for financial and SOX audits.
Provide necessary cash information to the corporate office.
Deliver financial information to the Corporate Office as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing terminology relevant to accounting activities.
Strong verbal and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate accounting practices effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
Leadership abilities including people management, meeting facilitation, presentation, and customer support.
Outstanding interpersonal skills (customer-oriented, positive attitude, team collaboration).
Intermediate proficiency in computer applications including email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access; advanced Excel skills are preferred.
Demonstrated analytical capabilities, including effective problem-solving and responsiveness to customer concerns.
Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Capacity to work independently, prioritizing responsibilities effectively.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
Ability to analyze and process large volumes of data efficiently.
Experience with databases such as SQL Server is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and concepts.
Required Experience and Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
Preferred: MBA or Master's degree with a financial focus or experience with Tier I and II CPA firms.
5-8 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing setting (Aerospace/Defense experience preferred).
Licenses and Certifications

Proficiency in MS Excel, including the creation of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, HLOOKUPs, Macros, and Spreadsheets.

CPA certification is preferred.
Base compensation can reach up to $135,000 annually.
