Position Overview:

This role is part-time and non-exempt, reporting to the Manager of Guest Experience. The schedule will include weekdays, at least one weekend day, and participation in events and holidays. The hourly wage starts at $18, increasing to $19 after the probationary period.

About Us:

The Children's Museum of Atlanta is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational experiences for children aged 0–8. Through various programs and exhibits, we aim to ignite children's curiosity and foster a love for learning through play.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage inter-generational learning through play-based activities.
  • Assist in the development of inclusive and engaging museum programming.
  • Facilitate hands-on activities in designated programming areas.
  • Support self-guided field trips by providing orientations and assistance.
  • Collaborate with the Museum Programs team to ensure the availability of necessary supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exhibit and programming spaces.
  • Participate in training sessions and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a welcoming environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in collaborative team settings.
  • Comfortable working with children and caregivers in a learning environment.
  • Strong teaching skills and understanding of childhood development.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Belief in a learn-through-play philosophy.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in educational or instructional settings is desirable.
  • Customer service experience is a plus.

Compensation: $18-$19 per hour
