We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Recovery Coach to join our team at New Horizons Mental Health Services in Lancaster, Ohio. As a valued member of our staff, you will play a critical role in providing support and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges.

Job Description:

As a Mental Health Recovery Coach, you will work closely with clients to empower them in their recovery journey. Your role will involve:

  • Providing ongoing engagement and support to clients, using your own lived experience with mental health recovery to assist and encourage participants.
  • Encouraging hope and optimism, and facilitating recovery through the exchange of ideas and feedback.
  • Supporting clients in accessing services by tracking appointments, completing outreach letters, and updating demographic information.
  • Providing linkage, coordination, monitoring, and outreach functions, and performing documentation requirements in the community and over the phone.
  • Serving as a role model, demonstrating techniques in recovery, including coping skills, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter Certification.
  • An Ohio driver's license, proof of automobile liability insurance, and a high school degree or equivalent.
  • A desire and ability to work with the mental health consumer population.
  • The willingness to disclose your own lived experience of recovery.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to set limits, confront behaviors, and redirect.
