Job Summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Outreach Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our outreach and engagement team, you will play a critical role in coordinating services for individuals experiencing homelessness in SPA 1.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field, with experience providing direct service in programs serving mentally ill adults, individuals experiencing homelessness, or similar populations. You will be responsible for developing recovery plans, providing psychiatric evaluations, and advocating on behalf of members to help them obtain and keep housing, health care benefits, and entitlements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for members
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and assessments for program participants
  • Advocate on behalf of members to obtain and keep housing, health care benefits, and entitlements
  • Collaborate with the E6 Outreach Team to coordinate outreach, engagement, and linkage/referral services
  • Participate in staff and community meetings and day-to-day operations of the program
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Experience providing direct service in programs serving mentally ill adults, individuals experiencing homelessness, or similar populations
  • LPS designation or qualified to write involuntary holds per section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to function well in a team-oriented approach to member services
