Job Title: Director of Web-based Applications and Systems

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Web-based Applications and Systems. This position is responsible for overseeing the district's website and related technology platforms, ensuring technology solutions are effectively integrated into both instructional and operational environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage assigned programs/staff in the district, overseeing district-wide technology projects and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Investigate, analyze, and formulate methods for handling special projects/reports, and manage the technical architecture of district websites.
  • Facilitate collaboration between the technology division and other departments related to technology needs, and partner with other divisions to ensure district web content is accurate and timely.
  • Collect and interpret web analytics data, identifying opportunities to improve search engine optimization (SEO), user engagement, and web traffic.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the district's online presence and usability, and administer accounts and user permissions for web platforms.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, web design, multimedia, or related field required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in program or project management required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
Working Conditions:

The work environment is generally in a moderately noisy location, and the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions is required. The ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress is also essential.

This is a full-time, 12-month position that requires a valid driver's license or the ability to provide own transportation. Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings is required.
