Job Title: Director of Medical Operations

Job Summary

The Director of Medical Operations is responsible for leading a team of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Medical Doctors (MDs) in delivering exceptional patient care and operational excellence. This role involves developing and refining clinical procedures, implementing operational standards, and ensuring a high-performance culture among the provider team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term goals, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures for the medical provider team.
  • Identify and address issues related to patient care and provider performance, providing regular updates and feedback to senior management.
  • Monitor provider performance, patient satisfaction, and service levels, making adjustments to staffing and processes as needed to ensure high-quality care.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with departments such as marketing, operations, and IT to drive operational efficiency and improve patient care outcomes.
  • Oversee clinical processes, including protocol development, compliance monitoring, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to patient care, provider onboarding, and clinical standards.
  • Foster a high-performance culture among the provider team, emphasizing continuous learning, accountability, and professional development.
  • Lead talent management efforts, including recruitment, training, and career development of NPs and MDs.
  • Implement business strategies related to quality assurance, team structure, provider education, and patient engagement initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach medical providers, supporting less experienced team members in their growth and development.
  • Develop and manage department scorecards, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcomes


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Medicine, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of management experience, preferably leading a team of NPs and MDs in a healthcare setting.
  • Proven track record of 7+ years in healthcare management, clinical operations, or provider relations.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and team development skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with and influence clinical staff and senior management.
  • Expertise in optimizing clinical operations, developing policies, and implementing new strategies.
  • Strong communication and listening skills to learn from both providers and patients and drive performance improvements.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and clinical guidelines.
  • Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, NC.
