Job Title: Lead Child Development Teacher - Cortez

AVANCE-San Antonio, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lead Child Development Teacher to join our team in Cortez. As a Lead Child Development Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education and care to infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children in our Early Head Start and Head Start programs.

Job Summary:

The Lead Child Development Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes social-emotional growth and development
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Supervising and supporting teaching staff
Responsibilities:

The Lead Child Development Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes social-emotional growth and development
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Supervising and supporting teaching staff
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement program-wide initiatives
Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A minimum of two years of experience working with an Early Head Start/Head Start program
  • A current CDA in Infant and Toddler or a minimum of an associate's degree in child development or early childhood education
  • Knowledge of the Performance Standards and Texas Licensing Standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A minimum of three years of experience working with an Early Head Start/Head Start program
  • A bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education or 18 hours equivalent coursework
  • Spanish fluency
