Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to a designated bus route for passenger pick-up and drop-off.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle.
  • Manage baggage compartment doors effectively.
  • Assist in loading and unloading passenger luggage.
  • Provide assistance to passengers boarding and alighting from the bus to ensure safety.
  • Support disabled passengers as required by federal regulations.
  • Collect and account for tickets and cash fares, addressing customer inquiries regarding routes.
  • Announce safety protocols and housekeeping information prior to each trip segment.
  • Comply with all DOT, federal, and state traffic laws and regulations.
  • Maintain communication with the dispatch department during routes, providing updates on passenger counts, emergencies, traffic conditions, or incidents.
  • Report any mechanical issues with the bus, including brakes, steering, and air conditioning, and collaborate with the maintenance department as necessary.
  • Submit fares and relevant paperwork to dispatch at the end of the shift.
  • Participate in company meetings and safety briefings.
  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and physicals as mandated by DOT, FMCSA, FTA, and other applicable agencies.
  • Complete initial and ongoing training as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate a bus safely and efficiently.
  • Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Punctuality and reliability.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must be at least 23 years old.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL through our training program.
  • Trans-Bridge will assist in obtaining a CDL, Class A or B, with air brakes and passenger endorsements.

Physical Demands:

  • Must successfully pass drug and alcohol screenings and a DOT physical examination.
  • Ability to operate the bus for extended periods.
  • Capacity to assist passengers as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and elevate it at least 14 inches from ground level.
  • Willingness to work on holidays and weekends as required.
