The Role of a Critical Care Registered Nurse:

The Critical Care Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act. This role involves:

  • Identifying nursing challenges tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Planning personalized patient care through a collaborative approach.
  • Engaging in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinating care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.

In a leadership capacity, the Critical Care Registered Nurse oversees daily operations to ensure high-quality patient care in a supportive environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Making staff assignments based on patient requirements and staff expertise.
  • Serving as a mentor and clinical resource for team members.
  • Responding promptly to inquiries from physicians, staff, or patients.

You will assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs while executing physician orders. Additionally, you will provide education to patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care team.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
  • Preferred: One year of clinical nursing experience.
