The Fleet Manager is responsible for maintaining the entire plant fleet in optimal condition and ensuring timely product movement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain fleet through regular preventative maintenance and accurate inventory management.
  • Supervise fleet mechanics and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Directly oversee all fleet-related jobs and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in interviewing and training new employees.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders to optimize fleet efficiency.
  • Oversee logistics and purchasing to ensure budget compliance.
  • Ensure cleanliness of fleet interior and exterior.
  • Manage DOT recordkeeping and monitor tachograph cards for compliance.
  • Schedule outside haulers for pickup and delivery, ensuring accurate billing and profit margins.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a plant/industrial setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced training and/or experience as a fleet mechanic.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and give/take direction.

Work Environment:

Job functions will be carried out in a plant automotive shop or outside on plant property.
