Operations Manager

Job Summary
Michaels Arts and Crafts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to lead our store operations and drive sales and profits. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and leading a team of well-trained team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in planning and executing store workload, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
- Lead and manage adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support and participate in truck unloading and stocking processes, ensuring truck standards are followed and completed within budget.
- Achieve individual and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), managing team performance and providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Manage visual merchandising standards, executing feature space and seasonal layouts to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Manage and execute inventory management processes, ensuring accurate and efficient stock levels.
- Manage and execute merchandise operations and Omni-channel processes, driving sales and customer satisfaction.
- Manage and execute shrink and safety programs, ensuring a safe and secure work environment.
- Train, observe, and coach team members to achieve results, participating in performance management and talent development.
- Interact with customers in a respectful and positive manner, providing solutions and exceeding customer expectations.
- Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD), ensuring store operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
- Retail management leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving sales and profits.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods, move throughout the store, and perform regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
Work Environment
- Public retail store setting, with climate-controlled public areas and some stock rooms that may not be climate-controlled.
- Some outdoor work may be required, such as retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks.
