Job Title: Assistant Technician - Leak Repair

Job Summary:

The Assistant Technician for Leak Repair is a key member of our team, responsible for detecting, locating, evaluating, and repairing leaks onsite at client work locations. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to company and customer safety standards and practices.
  • Perform all duties as assigned and adhere to Colt's Core Values.
  • Assist in assessing leaking components and reporting findings to operations, engineering, and customer representatives.
  • Assist in leak repair operations, including drill and tap of components, wire wrap and banding, and use of measuring tools.
  • Travel to client work locations to address emergency situations and provide repair services.
  • Collaborate with field personnel, client representatives, and management to ensure successful project completions.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of company products and services to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school education preferred.
  • Entry-level position with mechanical aptitude and skills.
  • Some experience with on-line leak repair preferred.
  • Ability to pass routine and random drug screening.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance and repair work preferred.
  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification required.

Work Environment:

  • Position is based out of a branch or site location with a geographic responsibility.
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant or industrial atmosphere.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, and customer personnel.
  • Working around production machinery with extreme heat and noise levels.
  • May be required to work in or near extreme hot or cold environments.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and climb throughout industrial areas, including steps and ladders.
  • Ability to communicate with customers in high-stress environments.
  • Ability to work on elevated or hard-to-reach surfaces and areas in a variety of locations throughout industrial facilities.
