Service Technician - Automotive Repair

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our team at Star Ford in Big Spring, TX. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for examining and diagnosing vehicles, discussing repairs with our shop foreman or service advisor, and communicating additional service requests to our service advisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine and diagnose vehicles to identify repair needs
  • Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor to determine best course of action
  • Communicate additional service requests to service advisor to ensure seamless customer experience
  • Plan work in cooperation with shop foreman to ensure efficient use of time and resources
  • Provide labor estimates to service advisor to ensure transparency and accuracy
  • Monitor repair time and update service advisor to ensure timely completion of repairs
  • Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Assist in mentoring technician trainees to ensure knowledge and skills are transferred effectively
  • Attend company and factory training to stay up-to-date on latest technologies and techniques
  • Keep current with factory technical bulletins to ensure knowledge of latest repair methods and techniques
  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste) to ensure compliance and safety
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED (general equivalency diploma); or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Operator Driver's License & State Inspection License
