Adjunct Professor of Geology

Durham Technical Community College is seeking an adjunct professor to teach geology courses in the Associate in Science Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for course preparation, delivery, grading, and records management. The instructor will work closely with the discipline chair and other faculty members to ensure the success of the science and math department and its students.
Key Responsibilities
Teach geology courses as assigned, for the full duration of scheduled instruction.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, ensuring students meet the course objectives.
Enforce academic policies and procedures, and comply with institutional rules and regulations.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and forms related to course and student management.
Stay current with developments in the field of geology, and incorporate relevant knowledge into teaching practices.
Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental and college goals.
Requirements
Master's degree in geology or a related field, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in geology.
Experience teaching science at a university or community college is preferred.
Strong understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the North Carolina Community College System.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and community groups.
Ability to use modern instructional technology, including learning management systems, email, and library research databases.
Working Conditions
