Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology

The University System of New Hampshire is seeking a highly qualified tenure-track faculty member in the field of Plant Pathology to join the Department of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Food Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting applied research on crop pathogens relevant to New England agriculture, establishing a high-impact, externally funded research program, and contributing to undergraduate and graduate education in ANFS through teaching and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct applied research on crop pathogens relevant to New England agriculture
• Establish a high-impact, externally funded research program
• Teach courses in Plant Pathology and Plant Microbe Interactions
• Mentor graduate students and provide directed undergraduate research opportunities
• Contribute to the development of the ANFS department's research and teaching programs
Requirements
The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, have a record of significant scholarly research, and demonstrate excellent potential in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. The candidate should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and research stakeholders of diverse backgrounds.
