Assistant Plant Maintenance Manager

As a key member of the Utility Plant Maintenance department, the Assistant Plant Maintenance Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the plant's mechanical maintenance, instrumentation/electrical (I&E) and storeroom expediters. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and improving the safety of the plant, participating in the plant safety committee, and implementing new safety programs. Additionally, they will assist in directing maintenance, overhauls, and projects for all power plant equipment, coordinating activities with the Plant Maintenance manager, Plant Operations Manager, and other operational groups to meet operational and production needs.
Key Responsibilities- Manage maintenance resources in a plant production environment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Meet goals and deadlines while prioritizing tasks and allocating resources effectively.
- Develop and implement safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational and production objectives.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new safety programs and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in power plant engineering, maintenance, operations, or management.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a similar field.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national electric and power piping codes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
