Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

At Inotiv, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for the overall upkeep of our facilities, ensuring that all maintenance and facility service needs are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to management on facilities and maintenance issues.
  • Collaborate with contractors, maintenance technicians, and other service personnel to ensure seamless operations.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to prevent downtime and ensure safety.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance, electrical, and carpentry functions to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Operate a range of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to perform duties efficiently.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed to support the facilities team.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in a maintenance or service role, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general contractor work.
  • Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
  • High energy level, stress tolerance, and ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, management, and outside vendors/customers.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:

  • Standing for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day.
  • Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level is usually moderate, but occasional exposure to increased decibel levels is possible.
  • Exposure to live electrical supply, plumbing, and HVAC sources that may include buildup of dust, gases, or particulates.
  • Exposure to solder, chemical fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Exposure to fiberglass, drywall dust, sawdust, and metal or wood filings.
  • Fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes, and short notice activity.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to meet service demands.
