Job Summary

Evonik Industries is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Plant Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for defining, organizing, planning, and executing small capital investment projects to ensure they are cost-effective, timely, and safely utilize state-of-the-art engineering concepts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engineering specifications, standards, and equipment work instructions to increase equipment uptime and reduce maintenance and spare part costs.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to address plant engineering issues and achieve operational goals.
  • Manage small capital and technical change projects from conception to completion, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, and participate in audits and inspections as required.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineering staff to develop their technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Chemical or Pharmaceutical Industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, with a proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects.
  • Capable of managing a budget greater than or equal to $2.5M-$3M/yr.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards and procedures.
