The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a dynamic and energetic physiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a full-time academic physiatrist, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing academic medicine department, providing excellent patient care and contributing to the expansion of our physiatry program.
Responsibilities- Provide outpatient general physiatry care within the M Health Fairview system, serving patients with a range of conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputee, multiple sclerosis, musculoskeletal injuries, and complex neurological conditions.
- Work with the PM&R Medical Director/Division Director and leadership to build strong relationships with referring departments and units, maintaining and strengthening the program.
- Participate in call coverage at the Acute Rehabilitation Unit (IRF) on a rotating basis and provide cross-coverage of inpatient services for absences, as needed.
- Collaborate with APPs and trainees in inpatient and outpatient settings, providing teaching, training, and general supervision.
- Close all patient encounters within eight calendar days.
- Graduate of an accredited PM&R residency training program.
- Board-certified or board-eligible with the American Board of PM&R (ABPM&R).
- Eligible to obtain a Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license.
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
- Experience collaborating with individuals across multiple departments, practices, and health systems.
- Experience with botulinum toxins injections to treat spasticity, dystonia, and migraines/headaches.
