Job Title: Tableau Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tableau Administrator to join our team at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. As a Tableau Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our enterprise-level Tableau infrastructure environment to ensure reliable performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain a multi-tier Tableau infrastructure environment.
  • Monitor server health and performance, implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Manage Tableau site creation, security, permissions, and settings.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Tableau dashboards and data sources.
  • Implement best practices for efficient and effective Tableau environment utilization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, including slow-loading dashboards and extract failures.
  • Manage and maintain Tableau data sources and connections.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency within the Tableau environment.
  • Collaborate with database administrators and data engineers to optimize data sources for Tableau.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a relevant field.
  • 4 years of Tableau experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years focused Tableau administration experience.
  • Primary skill should be Tableau administration with some Tableau development experience.
  • Experienced writing and reviewing SQL queries.
  • Experience utilizing Tableau's REST APIs for automation.
  • Good understanding of security, networking, and firewalls.
  • Tableau Certified Server Associate.
