Position Overview

The Systems Engineer will provide analytic support to the Analysis Technology and Tradecraft Office, focusing on strategic transformation initiatives. This role involves collaborating with key mission partners to deliver significant modernization capabilities, aiming to align current and future technology transformation efforts with architectural planning and implementation. The Systems Engineer will facilitate understanding of interdependencies within the organization and with mission partners, communicate necessary resource trade-offs, and assist in developing both short-term and long-term strategic approaches to support mission transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Deputy Director in addressing architectural dependencies and ensuring alignment of strategic efforts.
  • Draft essential documentation to articulate the current and future states of projects, capturing lessons learned.
  • Engage with mission customers to define and shape future capabilities.
  • Participate in strategic and tactical planning activities with customers and programs.
  • Contribute to the development of system architectures that enhance mission services.
  • Evaluate new technologies for suitability in mission services, using quantifiable criteria for informed decision-making.
  • Conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs) and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Identify critical decision points and offer recommendations to support strategic objectives.
  • Communicate planned architectural changes and project status to users, incorporating their feedback for optimized delivery.
  • Produce weekly activity reports for government stakeholders as needed.
  • Deliver effective technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences, demonstrating strong communication skills.
  • Clarify technical issues for diverse audiences and coordinate solutions across agencies.
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve technical and programmatic challenges.
Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in systems engineering, integration, or development, which may substitute for formal education.
  • Experience in relevant areas such as DoD/IC Acquisition Process, SAFe Agile methodologies, and CONOPS development.
  • Possession of TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain it.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Master's degree in a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in GEOINT analytic tradecraft and analysis production system development.
  • Experience with government acquisition processes.
  • Familiarity with agile systems development.
  • Prior experience in NGA Analysis or similar organizations.
